We will discuss about 𝗗𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗕𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗪𝗲𝗹𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗕𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗪𝗲𝗹𝗱:

1- 𝑩𝒂𝒄𝒌 𝑾𝒆𝒍𝒅:
A weld made at the back of a single groove weld.
Note: A back weld is deposited after welding the front side while a backing weld is deposited beforehand.
2- 𝑩𝒂𝒄𝒌𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑾𝒆𝒍𝒅:
Backing in the form of a weld. It is applied to the root of the joint to support and shield molten weld metal.
Note: A backing weld is deposited before welding the front side while a back weld is deposited afterwards.
